Coopers Hawk Original

Coopers Hawk was painted in oil on 24x18 triple-primed canvas and the Original is still available.

This Cooper's Hawk surprised me, in that it seemed as though he wanted me to take his picture. I had just arrived at our nearby Food Lion grocery store when to my delight I saw a hawk sitting on a chain link fence near the parking lot. As a smart landscape artist will often do, I got my phone camera ready and proceeded to get that perfect shot of this hawk which I have never been able to do.

I don't do this often, but it seemed right for this painting to make the background semi-abstract and focus entirely on the bird. Also, the chain-link fence had to go in favor of a rustic wooden one.
